  2. Tom Verlaines first is a good one. Tom Verlaine. It has all the aspects of Television, all of the songs are very good and recognizable if you are a fan of Verlaines work. It contains the great song "Kingdom Come" which Bowie covered on Scary Monsters. I recommend it to anyone who wants some more Television but realizes that they only have 2 LPs.
  3. Both Television and Tom Verlaine's solo work has long been critically acclaimed, but why don't more people know about it? Utterly perplexing though it is, the reader of this article appears to have luckily stumbled upon it! Tom Verlaine's self-titled debut album appears to /5(22).
  4. Kingdom Come Tom Verlaine. Produced by Tom Verlaine. Album Tom Verlaine. Kingdom Come Lyrics. Well, I walked in the pouring rain And I heard the voice that cries "it's all in vain".
  5. Tom Verlaine will always have Television' s great MARQUEE MOON shining over his shoulder as an unapproachable yardstick to measure against his work. It's a little unfair, because it has taken away from Television's solid follow up album ADVENTURE and caused many of his fine solo albums to fall under the shadow of his classic/5(22).
  6. Tom Verlaine is the eponymous solo debut studio album by American musician and Television guitarist Tom Verlaine. Several tracks, including "The Grip of Love", "Breakin' in My Heart" and "Red Leaves" trace their roots to unreleased Television songs.
  7. Tom Verlaine scores a solid winner on his first solo release. Not surprisingly, many of the songs here suggest the music of Television, his former band, especially in the use of vibrant and full guitar textures and frequent solo break sections in which to feature them. Verlaine's fey vocals surprisingly do not detract from the gutsiness of these numbers.
